HMoA Drawing Class - 01/14/13 - Tina

Monday was drawing class at the HAA. I had a pretty good night. The model was Tina, the last time she posed I had a number of great drawings.

Above is my favorite of the night. It was the second 20-minute pose. Everything on the page is working rather well. I love how I rendered the hands in this one.  Movement and spontaneity are really vital to this piece.

I was really good that night about estimating how long the pose would take me. I actually finished this pose with some time to spare. I was shocked how quickly I completed this pose. It was a really good night for me.

I also used solvent to do the shadow in this one, and it created a neat effect. It is dark enough to show the shadow, but still picking up some of the ink wash underneath.

Above is the 2 five and the 10 minute pose with 3 gestures underneath. This page is really growing on me. I really like the center pose in this there is such a flow to that drawing

Here it is cropped. It is a fun page.

This was the first of the 20 minute poses. I like this one a lot. I got a really good likeness in her face. It is definitely my second favorite page of the night.

I took some time to place the figure on the page and am unsure if I choose correctly.  The page is a little off-balanced nonetheless, it is a great set of drawings.

For the last pose of the night, I drew on this page. It is very much becoming the the zombie page that will not die.

This life drawing class is on Monday at 7PM. It is located at the The Honolulu Museum of Art School, formerly the Academy Art Center at Linekona. There is a $10 class fee.
